Pro-Housing Pittsburgh: Beechview Walking Tour

  • Meet at the Beechview Healthy Active Living Center (in-person only) 1555 Broadway Avenue Pittsburgh, PA, 15216 United States (map)

Did you know that many of the homes in Beechview were built before Pittsburgh had a zoning code? Learn some facts about one of Pittsburgh’s original ‘trolley suburbs’ from Pro-Housing Pittsburgh member and Beechview resident, Amy Zaiss. Weather dependent.
We’ll start and end our walking tour near the intersection of Broadway Ave & Hampshire Ave. Be prepared to walk about a half mile, and bring money for tacos (cash recommended but cards are accepted). We’ll end our tour at Las Palmas - arguably the best tacos in Pittsburgh.

How to get there:
The meeting location is a short walk from either the Fallowfield station (ADA accessible) or Hampshire Ave Stations, which are serviced by the Red line. Bus lines 36 and 41 have stops within a half mile. There is plentiful paid street parking. Bicycle parking is available on the street. If bringing your bicycle on the T, you must onboard/offboard at Fallowfield (find more information on PRT’s website).
